The BEST Chinese food in BG, and the employees are so very sweet. So affordable, and always fast! We dine in, and I often order take out for lunch! If you are looking for a fancy place to dine, this isn't it.. But if your hungry for some good Chinese at a good price, you need to try Happy Family!

We eat here a lot. From the local choices of the silver dragon, safeway and happy valley we choose to be happy. Prices are comparable to other Chinese. The place could be cleaner. The staff are quick and friendly enough

Good prices and portions, food quality is ok. The interior could use a good cleaning, or even better some updating.

Food is gross it's run down the bar is trashy. They made me a pretty nasty long island. But the 2 stars come in for the free pool and the designated driver gets free soda

food was fine, not a lot of flavor. they took my credit card number over the phone and WROTE IT DOWN. the entire number with exp and sec code were written on receipt!!! I called to complain and they said "it's how they do it". oy.

Portions are over-sized, and it's a decent value. The problem arises with the food itself. It doesn't have much flavor. For example: I've ordered both the Orange Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken, and I can't tell the difference. Both flavor profiles are identical. Service is prompt, and the staff I've dealt with have been really friendly. You can get lots of food for the money, so if you are a quantity over quality person, then Happy Family is for you!

We have eaten at Happy Family many times in the past but were very disappointed with our meal today. Our order was pea pod chicken with a an order of egg rolls to go. There was some confusion when we picked up our order but they found it eventually. When we got home we had the wrong order - pea pod beef. Was willing to give it a go rather than drive back. Sadly the food had no taste beef had weird texture. Egg rolls were greasy and the dipping sauce tasted like weak ketchup. Won't be going back.

Went here with my wife... Great place if you have kids or if you are deaf, not a place to take a date. The food was not bad, but not good either.

Changed ownership, in just one week food went down hill. Changed the size of the prawns, and the breading. The prawns and Shrimp Egg Rolls were so greasy could have wrung the grease out of them. So sad was really good food, We used to eat there 2 times a month.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
